 Block Watch

is a very successful crime prevention program,

designed to help keep our neighbourhoods safe.

The main objective of Block Watch is to partner with communities to build safer neighbourhoods by encouraging residents to take a proactive approach to crime prevention and safety. Block Watch provides a means for reducing the opportunity for crime. 

What are the benefits of Block Watch?

The active involvement and participation of citizens in a Block Watch program will:

·       Increase crime awareness in their neighbourhoods.

·       Improve knowledge of security measures to better protect their home and property.

·       Encourage reporting of suspicious behaviour and activity.

·       Allow direct access to an experienced crime prevention advocate.

·       Increase trained volunteers to be the eyes and ears for the community and the police.

Casa Loma is always working to improve the projects and programs we work on. Casa Loma is working on the addition of a Block Watch sign-up page. While we are under construction please use the “Contact” page to send a request at the Casa Loma Community link. In the “Subject” box type “Block Watch” and the Block Watch coordinator will follow up with your request.

Unlisted numbers may be withheld if desired. The Block Watch program does not disseminate, share or distribute this information to anyone and will remove the information at my request.

By agreeing to participate in this Crime Prevention Group, I agree to have my personal information placed on a team block map which is shared with the Community Safety Unit and Group participants in my neighbourhood. Captains will respect the privacy and the confidentiality of participating households who do not wish to share their personal information. If I chose not to share my personal information, I will advise the Captain of the Group.

Upon receipt of this form, A Block Watch Captain will contact you to confirm your membership with Block Watch.
